Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Purchasing and Contracts on behalf of Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) intends to award a fixed price contract with a five (5) month base year to 10X Genomics, Inc, Pleasanton, California 94588-3260 on a sole source basis to provide various reagents to use with the Chromium X equipment.
The Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) is currently working on a research project determining immune mechanisms in controlling responses to Pneumocystis infection. The project consists of immunocompromised and critically ill patients. Highly sensitive single-cell RNA-seq is a critical technology that will be performed in the Chromium X equipment. The merits of the technology have been validated through consistent studies. Proprietary 10X Genomics, Inc. reagents must be used with existing instrumentation. There are no other known sources that can supply the various reagents. Using any other reagents not compatible with the Chromium X equipment would potentially damage the equipment and cause erroneous testing results. It is imperative to procure the 10X Genomics reagents to maintain consistency and continuity of the research project in support of patient care.
