Jackson County, MS (G-NR-E) Project Estimate: $140,000 Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi, will receive sealed or electronic bids at Jackson County’s Chancery Clerk’s office, c/o Purchasing Department, located at 2915 Canty Street, Suite D, Pascagoula, Mississippi 39567 until 12:00 p.m. (CT) on July 9, 2025. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:00 p.m. (CT) on July 2, 2025, in the Board of Supervisors’ Board Room in the Jackson County Services Complex for the following: MAINTENANCE DREDGE PROJECT 2025 - DAVID DAVIS BAYOU JACKSON COUNTY, MS These bids are invited for the dredging of David Davis Bayou in Jackson County, Mississippi. All Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or a satisfactory Bid bond executed by Bidder and an acceptable surety, must be submitted in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of total bid. Electronic bids must be secured with a bid bond. All Bids submitted in excess of $50,000.00 by a prime or subcontractor to do any work, must comply with Section 31-3-21, Mississippi Code of 1972, by having a current Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Public Contractors. Contractors have the option of submitting their bids sealed in an envelope or electronically through www.jacksoncoplans.com. If sealed envelope bid is submitted by mail, sealed bids shall be marked ‘SEALED BID FOR JACKSON COUNTY MAINTENANCE DREDGE PROJECT 2025 - DAVID DAVIS BAYOU’ and submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to Joshua Eldridge, Chancery Clerk, 2915 Canty Street, Suite D, c/o Purchasing Department, Pascagoula, MS 39567. Bids may be delivered to Josh Eldridge, Chancery Clerk, c/o Purchasing Department, 2915 Canty Street, Suite D, Pascagoula, MS 39567. All bid envelopes should contain the bidder’s name and mailing address on the outside of the envelope and also specify the name of the bid item. Bidder’s certificate of responsibility number or a statement that bid inside does not exceed $50,000.00 shall appear on the outside or exterior of the envelope or container of such bids, failing which, said bid shall not be opened or considered. Electronic bids must be secured with a bid bond. When submitting a bid electronically, the authorized signature may be a hand-written blue ink signature or be an electronic signature. When bids are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope shall be deemed in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal. The current Certificate of Responsibility Number shall be indicated on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope in order to be opened. All Bids submitted which do not exceed $50,000.00 shall be so marked on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope. All bids submitted in excess of $50,000.00 by a prime or subcontractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance or related work, must comply with Section 31-3-21, Mississippi Code of 1972. Bidder must be qualified under Mississippi Law and have a current Certificate of Responsibility from the State of Mississippi Board of Contractors establishing his Classification as to the value and type of construction on which he is authorized to bid. The scope of work for this project shall require a Contractor to be classified in the following category: Dredging. Each Bidder shall write his Certificate of Responsibility Number on the exterior of the sealed bid envelope before it can be opened. The outside of the envelope should also bear the Bidder’s name, address, and name of the project for which the Bid is submitted. The Jackson County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any and all bids received and to award said bid in the best interest of the County. Bids may be held for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
