The Town of Agawam is requesting sealed bids from qualified contractors for The Agawam Junior High School Cafeteria Flooring Replacement, 2024, in accord with the Project Manual and Drawings prepared by the office of Casella Design Associates, LLC, 200 Shoemaker Lane, Agawam MA. The Contract is estimated to be $130,000.00. Plans and Specifications will be digital ONLY, and made available to Contractors starting Wednesday May 1, 2024 from the office of the Chief Procurement Officer, Ms. Jennifer Bonfiglio, (413) 726-9742 or via email at: [email protected] . File-sub bids are NOT required. Sealed Bids shall be received from eligible bidders until 2:30 PM, May 16, 2024 at the office of the Chief Procurement Officer, within the Town Hall at 36 Main Street Agawam, MA 01001 where said bids shall be opened and publicly read aloud within said office. Each general bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, cash, or a certified check or a treasurer’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company having offices in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The proposal guarantee shall be in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid made payable to the Town of Agawam. A non-mandatory Pre Bid Conference for all contractors shall be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday May 7, 2024 at the site, Agawam Junior High School, 1305 Springfield Street Feeding Hills, MA. Please assemble outside in the front parking lot, on the north side of the building. Bids shall be made on the basis of the Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries, Pursuant to the Provisions of Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27D inclusive of Massachusetts General Laws, a copy of which is attached to and is made a part of the Contract. The Contractors must qualify for, be registered with and hold all required licenses, certifications and meet all qualifications as required by the State of MA. This project is not expected to meet the thresholds requiring Division of Capital Asset Management (DCAMM) certification. However, this contractor shall carry all required insurances and have paid all fees and Worker’s Compensation as required by the State of Massachusetts and the Town of Agawam if and when thresholds are met for costs of overall and sub trades of construction. Bidders’ selection procedures and contract award shall be in conformity with applicable statues of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A 50% Payment Bond will be required of the successful bidder. Attorney-in-fact who signs Bid Bonds or Payment Bonds must file with each certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney. Form of bond will be A.I.A. Doc. No. A-3l2-2010. The Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all general bids, if it be in the public interest to do so, and to reject any sub-bid on any sub-trade if it determines that such sub-bid does not represent the sub-bid of a person competent to perform the work as specified or that less than three such sub-bids were received and that the prices are not reasonable for acceptance without further competition. Final award shall be dependent upon funding appropriation.
