The Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) and Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) - Enterprise Soldier Aviation (ESA) Directorate is seeking to award a follow-on contract, for the acquisition of repair services for the AN/APX -123/123A Common Transponder System (CXP) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF). The contract will be awarded to BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems, 65 Spit Brook Rd, Nashua, NH 03060-6909. FFP Task Orders (TOs) will be issued for repair of components for the CXP system. This action is a follow-on to contract W56JSR-17-D-0015, which was awarded under authority FAR 6.302-1.
The AN/APX-123 and the AN/APX-123A are part of the CXP IFF family. The AN/APX-123 is an older version of the CXP IFF, which
consists of an RT-1912(C) Receiver Transmitter and a Remote-Control Unit (RCU). The RT-1912A(C) Receiver Transmitter and an RCU with matching software comprise the AN/APX-123A, the latest version of the CXP IFF. The CXP IFF is required for successful accomplishment of all airborne missions, and is used in all front-line Army aircraft platforms, including the AH-64A/D Apache, CH-47 D/F Chinook, and UH 60A/L/M Black Hawk helicopters. Repair services are necessary to maintain operational readiness of the CXP systems to continue support of Army aircraft platforms.
The proposed source is BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc. (BAE), 65 Spit Brook Rd, Nashua, NH 03060-6909. BAE Systems (Cage Code 94117) BAE is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the CXP and its sub-assemblies. They possess the expertise and knowledge to produce and repair the CXP system. BAE is the only known source that has the required technical data and software necessary to perform the required repair, maintenance, and upgrade services.
