Recently, a hail/wind storm caused damage to the roof at Boyce Elementary School. Reports indicate that approximately 40-50% of the roof was damaged. The damage is causing water leaks inside the school and if not repaired quickly, may cause additional damage. There is also a chance that more damage may be found underneath the shingles when work begins. To ensure the safety of elementary students and staff, the School System does not want a roofing crew on the roof and around the building while classes are in session and therefore, due to the school calendar, only has a small window to get the work done before staff and students return to the building. Due to the damage and the need to repair the roof as quickly as possible to prevent additional damage and to ensure the safety of students and staff, Clarke County Public Schools is issuing a contract on June 27, 2025, to Black Stone Roofing using an emergency procurement. Clarke County Public Schools received quotes from three vendors. Black Stone Roofing was the least expensive quote. Mike Legge, Purchasing Manager Post for one month beginning 06/27/25
