Invitation: VIA Metropolitan Transit (hereinafter “VIA”) is seeking proposals from responsible firms for VIA RFP No. 25-232 Federal Advocacy Services. a) The Contractor shall advise and assist VIA in identifying and developing a list of federal appropriations annually in addition to developing and implementing strategies for successfully securing federal funding for transit projects and other strategic priorities. The Contractor shall recommend and develop strategies in consultation with VIA. (b) The Contractor shall advise and assist VIA in maintaining relations with the Congress of the United States to advance and protect the interests of VIA. Special emphasis shall be placed on liaison with the San Antonio Delegation (hereinafter referred to as the Delegation), as well as the Members and staff of key committees. (c) The Contractor shall be responsible for facilitating and providing communications with the Delegation, and in turn advising VIA of the interests and needs of the Delegation, and monitoring federal developments which could impact VIA’s initiatives, including advising the Delegation of VIA’s activities, as requested by VIA. Such activities shall include the solicitation of Delegation support for federal funding. All questions regarding this procurement must be submitted in writing to the Contracts Specialist. Unless specifically authorized in writing by VIA, no telegraphic or tele-faxed bids will be considered.
