The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Memphis District is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing a new mooring winch system. The winches will be mounted on the Vicksburg District’s new 400’ long Mooring Barge to include twenty (20) Hydraulic Mooring Winches mounted on ten (10) main foundation bases, three (3) centralized HPU’s, controls, all hydraulic piping, and various mooring winch deck fittings (sheaves & fairleads). The primary mission of these winches is to properly position the Mooring Barge to execute Mat Sinking operations in support the Revetment mission for the Lower Mississippi River.
