This is a competitive Request For Applications (RFA) Grant Solicitation. Under the direction of the Governor's Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force, OPR was appropriated $2 million in Fiscal Year 2023-2024. These funds will be used to conduct a competitive grant program that focuses on forest sector market development with a special emphasis on developing regional forest resilience authorities that will facilitate biomass aggregation, manage long-term feedstock contracts, and improve landscape resilience to wildfire. The Forest Sector Market Development Grant program will award funds to applicants that can demonstrate the capacity to implement new public entities to manage forest biomass supplies at the local and regional level. The program emphasizes prioritizing investments in projects that demonstrate innovative approaches in planning that could be replicated in other jurisdictions across the state.
