This Project consists of reconstruction of the existing partially failed riprap covered slopes on the riverbank of the Mendenhall River at two locations: 1) The Mendenhall Wastewater Treatment Plant River frontage; and, 2) The river frontage at the end of the Antler Way right of way. The 2024 glacial outburst flood removed riverbed material and the riprap scour apron at the toe of the slope in these locations. The intent of the WORK is to reconstruct the scour apron and reconstruct slumped areas of riprap from the bottom up, using existing and imported riprap, Class III, over a shot rock filter blanket. Existing riprap may be left in place undisturbed or repositioned to a different location on the slope within the project area as needed for equipment access.
