2024 Sack Lunch Vendor Request for Offer. RFO is a detailed request for vendors to submit offers for various types of sack lunches for CAL FIRE staff to be purchased during an emergency incident. This year's Sack Lunch has the following adjustments from last year's request: 1. Attachment A, Page 8, indicating that the image of the sack lunch will now require the Vendor's name and current date to be visible. Reused images from previous years are not allowed, and generic online images are not allowed. 2. In Attachment A, Page 11, packaging language has been updated. This year the core sandwich (bread, meat, cheese) can be wrapped as a single item if desired, or individually wrapped as in previous years directions. Vegetables, condiments, premixed salads shall be wrapped separately. 3. In Attachment A, Page 12, language for updated QR code use has been added. Sack Lunch vendors will be provided a QR code, to be included on all orders. It will allow CAL FIRE staff to leave feedback per order. Feedback will be shared with the vendor. Current plan is to do a main feedback at end of fire season, but we can do feedback at earlier intervals if needed. This is a new feature for this year, and will be updated and modified as needed. 4. In Attachment D. This section has taken into account feedback received last year regarding the updates to nutrition requirements. The following updates have been made based on recent vendor feedback: ¿ Separate Jerky, Nuts, and Dried Fruit into a ¿Required Snacks¿ category. All other snack items into a ¿Discretionary¿ category. ¿ Allow required dried fruit items to include ¿preserved¿ options (example ¿ fruit pouches). ¿ Updated Jerky package size 3oz minimum o Vendors may wish to include additional jerky as a way to reach required protein amount. Jerky consistently scores highly as a most liked food item in firefighter lunches. ¿ 50g added sugar limit for Snacks categories on Line and Base Camp lunches. Admin lunches will keep the 50g added sugar as a whole. ¿ Language about vegetarian lunches being more accommodating to vegans. Not a requirement but a trend we are reviewing. As noted on the RFO, please submit your Questions, if any, and a Q&A document will be generated for all vendors to see.
