The project involves the demolition and removal of the abandoned headworks, primary clarifiers, and sand filters at the City of Palm Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 4375 E Mesquite Ave, Palm Springs, CA 92264. The scope includes the removal, transportation, and proper disposal of all materials resulting from demolition, including existing utilities within the project footprint that may require cutting, capping, and removal; the identification, abatement, and lawful disposal of hazardous materials such as asbestos and lead-containing substances in compliance with applicable regulations; the installation of new electrical conduit and duct bank, along with associated components, to provide power to the facility access gate; backfilling and compaction to grade where necessary to restore the site; and the protection of all other facilities within the wastewater treatment plant project area that are not designated for demolition.
