Title of Project: Repair Bartlett Park Comfort Station, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park
SUMMARY OF WORK
The existing Bartlett Park Comfort Station is currently closed due to damage from a falling tree. The falling tree, which has been cleared from the site, damaged approximately half of the roof of the comfort station, some of the buildings¿ soffits, the ceiling of the comfort station, as well as some of the lighting electrical, and venting for the building. There is also some minor damage to some of the cinder blocks of the comfort station. The tree has been removed and now this project will repair the damaged portions of the comfort station so that it can be put back into use.
This project will require the roof to be repaired by replacing damaged trusses, structural elements and roof sheathing. The existing metal roof will be completely replaced and a new ice & water shield must be installed under the new metal roof. The fascia boards must be repaired and the soffit also requires repairs which include installing new soffit vents and lighting. Electrical repairs and repairs to the HVAC ventilation ductwork will need to be performed in the damaged section of the building. A new ceiling will need to be installed in the women¿s restroom along with new lighting, lighting sensor, exhaust fan and ventilation grille, all to match those elements in the men¿s restroom. There are also some concrete masonry blocks in the building that must be replaced and repointed. See detailed description in the ¿Work and Product Requirements¿ section below for full details of the requirements of this project. Also see the photos as the end of this document.
