This project addresses deficiencies within the built environment of the IT and Communication Service
Lines and prepares the campus for the Cerner upgrade that is happening nationally. In addition to ensuring
adequate capacity for planned growth and maintenance, this project addresses deficiencies as defined by
the PSRDM (Physical Security Design and Resiliency Manual) 2021 VA Standard. Like all standards, they
are to be implemented to the greatest extent possible within the framework of available budgets and
without negatively impacting the overall mission of serving the health and welfare of the veteran
population served by the Newington, CT VA Medical Center. The following buildings have been identified
as having deficiencies to address:1C, 2E, 2C, 2W, 3, 12, 32, 33, 34, 42, 65 and the site. If additional buildings
are found to be integral to patient services, they will be included in the survey and design to ensure that
this program is successful and all required connectivity is installed prior to the Go Live date. To date all
buildings have been surveyed.
The Contractor (herein referred to as ā€œGCā€) shall provide construction services for a construction project
at the Newington VA Medical Center (VAMC) in accordance with this statement of work.
