The US Army Research Development and Engineering Command (USA RDEC), Natick Contract Division, in support of the U.S. Army Soldier and Biological Chemical Command, Soldier System Center (USA SBCCOM, SSC), Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760, intends to conduct negotiations and award a purchase order to Hexcel Reinforcements Corporation, Anderson, South Carolina, on the basis of other than full and open competition in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation part 6.302-1. This procurement is for th e purchase of 300 linear yards each of Kevlar KM2 Style 705 (850 denier) and 706 (600 denier) with a Hexcel Reinforcements Corporation proprietary CS898 finish. This acquisition is for research and development purposes. The FSC Code for this procurement is 8305, The NAICS Code is 313210. The Business size is 1,000. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS, however, the Government will consider all quotations received within seven (7) days after date of publication of this announcement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurem ent.
