Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army RDECOM, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army  Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with Specialty Defense, 530 Sherwood Ave., Dunmore, PA 18512. This effort is to provide the Government with Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment (MOLLE) Vehicle Panel, and leaders Pocket Set. The Government plans on purchasing 1000 each of the Vehicle Panel and 750 each of the Leader Pocket Set for rapid testing and evaluation. Specialty is the only source for the MOLLE and the only company that has MOLLE in production. This action has a significant impact on the equipment being currently fielded in support of Operation Iraqi freedom and will determine if any changes will be made to the MOLLE and later procured in a full and open solicitation.
