The U.S. Army's Targets Management Office (TMO) is developing a New Generation Army Targetry System (NGATS) to replace existing target systems on live fire ranges. This NGATS target system will be made up of families of targetry components that are interchangeable and provide the required performance at a low life cycle cost. The Government has evaluated the responses provided by Industry on it's Request For Information (RFI) issued 24 March 2004 regarding the method of communication to be utilized. The previous design method for communication utilized both the Ethernet (TCP/I P) and the RS-485 (HDLC) physical media (protocol). The Government has decided to use only the Ethernet (TCP/IP) physical media and protocol. The Government will update the appropriate Interface Control Documents (ICDs) within two weeks. They will be po sted on the NGATS web site, http//ngats.redstone.army.mil. An announcement will be issued when the ICDs are posted. POC is:
