The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), will be funding this project. This notice is provided for informational purposes only. This opportunity is available only to Ethnographic Services of Reno, Nevada based on the justification provided and as stated below. The Bureau of Land Management, California State Office intends to award Phase II of a two phase project, Phase I was completed in 2008 focused on the Pit River Tribal bands of Aporige and Hammawi and Pauite Tribal bands of the Wadatkut and Kamotkut primarily. Phase II will focus on the Washoe Tribe, the Maidu Tribe, and additional Paiute bands, including the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe. Phase I was solicited through Federal Business Opportunities and the contractor was selected based on proven performance with similar types and scales of projects, previous relationships with each of the Tribal groups and approval of the Tribal groups that the ethnographers would be acceptable to work with. Ethnographic Services of Reno, Nevada has developed a rapport with the Tribal governments eliciting information of this kind from the tribal people requires a high degree of sensitivity and trust with the guarantee of confidentiality.
