The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking the services of a design-builder to complete the design and construction for the structural rehabilitation of various work items on 21 bridges and aerial structures throughout the WMATA system. Major work items consist of pier cap retrofit, expansion joint replacement, anchor bolt replacement, concrete repair, protective coating of concrete and steel, safety walk & handrail replacement, bearing replacement, weld repair, replace fencing, and drain cleaning. The performance period for this project is approximately 24 to 30 months from the issuance of notice to proceed. A Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) participation percentage goal of 25% has been established for this project.
