M734A1 and M783 Market Survey
The Army Contracting Command (ACC), New Jersey (NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, in support of the Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (OPM-CAS) is conducting a market survey to identify qualified sources to produce the M734A1 Multi-Option Fuze for Mortars (MOFM) and M783 Point Detonating/Delay Mortar fuze, to support FY13-19 production quantities. The M734A1 fuze has four selectable functions: two proximity Height of Burst settings (60/81 PRX and 120 PRX), Impact (IMP) and Delay (DLY). No tools are required to set the fuze. The M734A1 and the M783 fuzes can be used on 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm High Explosive (HE) and 60mm and 120mm White Phosphorous (WP) Smoke Rounds. The M783 fuze has Impact and Delay capability and shares many of the same components with the M734A1 MOFM. It is anticipated that both fuzes will be procured under one contract. The U.S. Government anticipates soliciting for offerors located within the National Technology and Industrial Base (NTIB) for a single award of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), contract including a basic award of five (5) ordering periods and an option for two (2) additional ordering periods. The estimated quantity to be purchased over the seven (7) year period is 172,000 for the M783 and the estimated quantity to be purchased over the seven (7) year period for the M734A1 is 73,000. The M734A1 and M783 fuzes shall be manufactured to Government owned Technical Data Packages, drawings, and specifications, which are coded as Distribution Statement D (authorized distribution of technical documents to Department of Defense components and their contractors).
