This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open basis with 10X Genomics, Inc. of Pleasanton, CA to procure single cell gene expression kits (for B cells) manufactured by 10X Genomics.

This order is for the purchase of eight kits of 16-48 samples each for the separation of up to 100,000 single B cells per sample, for the barcoding of their transcripts and for library construction for downstream Illumina-based sequencing. These kits offer unique technologies, proprietary to 10X Genomics, required by the Cell Biology Section of the NIH.

Place of Performance is Bethesda, MD 20892.

The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
