DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, on behalf ofthe Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems, located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is seeking information relating to possible sources for 40mm High Velocity and Low Velocity air-burst ammunition. The ammunition would be able to perform detonation of the warhead without impacting a target, but rather be detonated while in flight over various targets. All types of range determination, fire control and ammunition programming are of interest. PLANNED ACQUISITION: At this time the Government is looking to understand the capabilities of industry and does not presently intend to award a contract. SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Interested companies should respond by providing the Government the following information: (1) A description of the ammunition design, performance characteristics, weapon compatibility and fire control design/ ammunition programming technology.
