DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Army Contracting Command, New Jersey (ACC-NJ) on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager, Maneuver Ammunition Systems (OPM-MAS), is issuing a market survey for potential sources of a 40mm High Velocity (HV) Air-Burst (AB) ammunition cabability. The ammunition should be capable of being programmed to detonate while in flight over and/or next to various targets. All types of range determination, fire control, and ammunition programming are of interest.

PLANNED ACQUISITION: This notice is being issued for informational purposes only and is not a solicitation nor does it obligate the Government to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this notice and does not intend to do so.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION: All responsible, interested sources responding to this notice shall include information regarding their capability to provide 40mm HV AB ammunition. Interested companies should provide their company name, address, company size (including # of employees), Point of Contact's name, telephone number and email address. In addition, request that respondent provide the following:

(1) A description of the ammunition's design, item nomenclature, performance/lethality characteristics, weapon compatibility and fire control design/ ammunition programming technology.
(2) Are any modifications (permanent or temporary) to the MK19 required to utilize the airburst systems?
(3) Can the airburst fuze/technology be assembled/fitted to the M430A1 warhead?
(4) Summary of technology readiness level (TRL) i.e. Cartridge, Fuze, Setter/Programmer.
(5) Other areas where ammunition is used i.e. other governments, teaming agreements etc.
(6) Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) pricing for the following items:

a. 400 Cartridges
b. 5 Ammunition Setters/Programmers
c. 400 Airburst Fuzes
d.10,000 Cartridges
e. 30Ammunition Setters/Programmers
f. 10,000 Airburst fuzes

(7) Estimated timeframe for production/delivery for each of the above items
(8) Hazard Classification

The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for information solicited. Participation in this effort is strictly voluntary. Please identify any proprietary information submitted. The Government may utilize the information received to develop the acquisition strategy for future requirements. Any of the information stated above is subject to change.
