The Army field Support Command is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources interested in the manufacture of 1882 ea of the 40 lb Shaped Demolition Charge (description stated in Market Survey posted March 2, 2004)and 9,468 of the 15 lb Demo Shaped Charge. The M2A4 Demolition shaped Charge is a 15-pound charge used primarily to bore holes in earth, metal, masonry, concrete, paved and unpaved roads. The M2A4 is designed especially for use against reinforced concrete. The charge consist s of: Cone container, Cone Retainer Ring, Bottom Ring and Stand-Off sleeves which are formed from sheets of fiberglass molding compound (part number 12913049); metallic charge liner; and, closing cap assembly formed from tin plate steel or steel strip and copper alloy brass strip. Composition B is the explosive filler in the charge. It is loaded into the charge in a melt-pour process. Comp B will be provided as Government-furnished material. The M2A4 also has a Composition A3 booster charge. Comp A3 wi ll also be provided as Government-furnished material. In the end item configuration, the M2A4 charge has a carrying strap assembly made of cotton webbing. Finished charges are packed in fiberboard boxes, barrier bags, and wooden boxes per drawing 923117 0.
