The US Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command-Picatinny has a requirement for the manufacture and delivery of 100 firing mechanism assemblies, 100 firing pins, 100 firing pin retainers, and 100 firing pin springs under the Lightweight 155mm Howitzer (LW155) program. The firing mechanism assemblies have to be assembled and functionally checked by the contractor. Delivery of the first 20 of each item will be required five months after contract award, with equal deliveries each month thereafter. A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract is contemplated, and is anticipated to be awarded to the lowest-priced, responsible offeror in accordance with the informational requirements and responsibility criteria set forth in the forthcoming Request for Proposal (RFP).
