The US Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command (JM&L LCMC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is contemplating the issuance of a Solicitation for Reactive Applique Armor Tiles for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle System (BFVS). The tiles must be capable of protecting the BFVS against the anti- tank guided missile class threats, and must not be vulnerable to burning or detonation from small arms fire. The tiles must also meet BFVS weight constraints and it must fit the armor attachment provisions currently in place on the BFVS. This requirement shall be solicited on a firm-fixed-price basis. The contemplated quantity for FY08 with an Option for FY09 is between two hundred (200) and three hundred (300) vehicle sets. A vehicle set is comprised of eighteen (18) M3A2 tiles; eight (8) M4A2 tiles; fifty-five (55) M5A2 tiles; seven (7) M6A1 tiles; and eight (8) M7A1 tiles. These tiles must be qualified per performance specification MIL-PRF-70773 which has been classified SECRET. The A2 tile design represents an upgrade to the front and side tile design to meet an enhanced threat. After issuance of the Solicitation, all respondents must have a minimum SECRET clearance to gain access to this information.
