SOURCES SOUGHT: The US Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command (JM&L LCMC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is contemplating the issuance of a Solicitation for Reactive Applique Armor Tiles for the Assault Breacher Vehicle (ABV). The tiles must be capable of protecting the ABV against the anti- tank guided missile class threats, and must not be vulnerable to burning or detonation from small arms fire. The tiles must also meet ABV Weight constraints and it must fit the armor attachment provisions currently in place on the ABV. This requirement shall be solicited on a firm-fixed-price basis. The contemplated quantity for FY07 is approximately 1,584 M6A1 tiles. These tiles must be qualified per performance specification MIL-PRF-70773 which has been classified SECRET. After issuance of the Solicitation, all respondents must have a minimum SECRET clearance to gain access to this information. US Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command (JM&L LCMC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ hereby requests that any firm which may have the capability of meeting this contemplated requirement should provide a Statement of Capability and supporting rationale to Ms. Donna M Apgar, [email protected], 973-724-2002 and Mr. Jeff McEnteer, [email protected] at area code (973) 724-3992 within fifteen (15) days from the date of this publication so that it may be properly evaluated prior to synopsis and solicitation of the requirement. See numbered note 25. It is currently the intention of US Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command (JM&L LCMC) to issue a sole source award to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products Inc. of Burlington, VT as a modification to the current contract.
