The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award a Firm Fixed Price contract to McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company for the procurement of approximately seventy (70) Harpoon missiles in tactical, exercise and training configurations, as well as related equipment, services and documentation during a base and one year period. (MDC) is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the Harpoon missile and is the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, technical data, and equipment, facilities and experience to perform this effort within the required timeframe.
