The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to enter into sole source negotiations and subsequently award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Order under the Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-05-G-0026 to McDonnell Douglas, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company. This order will provide for the acquisition of Portable Light Weight Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for the Taiwan Navy.
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Unless stated herein, no additional information is available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. A determination by the Government not to compete this effort is solely within the discretion of the Government. GENERAL INFORMATION: Boeing has a unique knowledge base of the Harpoon weapon systems as a result of its design, development, and modification of these systems. Accordingly, Boeing is the only known qualified, responsible source that can fulfill the requirements specified herein.
