The US Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division Soldier Natick, MA, has a requirement to modify the existing IDIQ Contract W911QY-07-D-0010 for an additional 1100 JPADS 2K systems and Contractor Logistical Support and Data Rights in order to meet and fulfill war fighter needs. Airborne Systems North American of New Jersey is currently the only source able to produce these systems, as developed within the accelerated production time frame. Data Rights for these systems currently remain with Airborne Systems. This acquisition will be procured under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c )(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), paragraph 6.302-1, entitled Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Commercial Precision Airdrop System has fulfilled the need for several increased capabilities such as ground accuracy, standoff delivery, air carrier survivability, and overall improved effectiveness regarding airdrop mission operations.
