The projects include the following: 7600-124-A: VETERANS CENTER WWTP DEWATERED SLUDGE HAULING 1. Hauling and disposal of aerobically digested, dewatered sludge generated at the Veterans Center Wastewater Treatment Plant during any one calendar year. Disposal shall be in a landfill or by land application which complies with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations 7600-124-B: BARTONS MEADOWS WWTP LIQUID SLUDGE HAULING 1. Hauling, processing and disposal of Liquid Sludge generated at the Bartons Meadows Wastewater Plant during one calendar year. 2. Hauling raw wastewater from the Bartons Meadows Wastewater Plant to a Township manhole in the collection system of the Veterans Center Plant during any one calendar year on an emergency basis The Veterans Center Plant is estimated to generate approximately 120 wet tons per year of dewatered sludge having a concentration of approximately 20% solids. The Bartons Meadows Wastewater Treatment Plant produces approximately 100,000 gallons of liquid sludge per year with an approximate concentration of 1.5 percent solids. Emergency hauling of raw wastewater from the Bartons Meadows Plant can exceed 200,000 gallons per year, but is dependent on storm events. The response time for emergency hauling of raw wastewater from the Bartons Meadows Plant is two hours. Bids for Bartons Meadows WWTP sludge hauling must include both the regular liquid sludge hauling and the emergency hauling to be eligible. The base contract length is two (2) years with an option to extend for an additional year on mutually acceptable terms. The Township is also accepting bids for a five (5)-year contract with an option to extend for an additional year on mutually acceptable terms. Bids must be made on the forms furnished with the Contract Documents and must be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft or bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the total price bid made payable to the Township. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond with corporate surety issued by a company authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the prescribed form dated the date of the Contract equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, to secure the faithful performance of the Contract.
