The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County desires to solicit competitive proposals from responsible vendors to provide professional services for the planning and hosting of a celebratory event in honor of Juneteenth, on Saturday June 15, 2024. This coordinated event should: (1) be free and open to the public, (2) acknowledge the history of the Juneteenth holiday; (3) educate attendees on the aftermath and ongoing effects of slavery, the 13th amendment, and reconstruction; and (4) celebrate local BIPOC stories and voices, as well as support local BIPOC business owners and communities.
