Bid No. 24-176 – Thomas M. Balliet School Renovations Project THIS PROJECT IS BEING ELECTRONICALLY BID AND HARD COPY BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please review the instructions in the bid documents on how to register as an electronic bidder. The bids are to be prepared and submitted at www.biddocsonline.com. The City of Springfield, through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management, is seeking electronic bids from Prime Contractors and Filed Sub-Bidders for the construction of new classrooms and breakout rooms in the lower level of the school building. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, “General Contractor.” Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for the trades listed, and bidders must include a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Sub-Bidder’s Update Statement. Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on March 13, 2024, publicly opened, forthwith online. Filed sub-bid for the trades listed below will be received until 12:00 PM on March 6, 2024, and publicly opened, forthwith online. SUBTRADES: HVAC and Electrical It is strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on 2/28/24 at 10:00 A.M. at 52 Rosewell St, Springfield, MA 01109. The meetings will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications. Estimated value of the contract is approximately $1,200,000.00. Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available February 21, 2024 at www.biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167). Questions must be submitted in writing to the City ([email protected]) by close of business on 2/29/24 for filed sub bidders and by close of business on 3/7/24 for general bidders in order to be considered. The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. This project is subject to the City’s Responsible Employer Ordinance. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and Federal Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage rates will apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
