The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source delivery order with Hamilton Sundstrand, Windsor Locks, CT 06096, for support equipment and tooling specific to the NP2000 propeller system to support the introduction of the NP2000 propeller into the E-2C and C-2 aircraft. This support equipment and tooling is unique to NP2000 and can not be used on any other propeller system. Hamilton Sundstrand is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the 54460 and NP2000 propellers and the associated support equipment and tooling that is required in this procurement and is, therefore, the only source that possesses the indepth technical knowledge necessary to provide this support equipment within the time required to meet USN requirements.
