The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a sole source contract to Rolls Royce Corporation for T56-A-427 engines to be furnished as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) required for the production of E-2C Hawkeye 2000 aircraft, Trainer aircraft, and the E-2C Advanced Hawkeye System Development and Demonstration aircraft. Rolls Royce Corporation of Indianapolis, Indiana, is the sole engine manufacturer of the T56-A-427 turbo propeller engine and is the only source that possesses the knowledge, experience, and technical data necessary to provide the required engines in a timely manner for the purposes of meeting the fleet’s operational needs.
