This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordancewith the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are
being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Solicitation No.
FA8601-08-T-0006 is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition
Circular 2005-10. THIS IS FOR FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION
This requirement is for ONE (1) 2O HP, 37 INCH WIDE BELT SANDER, consisting of the
following salient features:

The requirements for the Belt Sander is as follows:
20HP, 37 INCH WIDE BELT SANDER
A centralized control panel with an LED readout for accurate settings, pneumatic belt tensioning
and photoelectric belt tracking mean. The sander shall provide consistent and precise sanding for
large, production shop stock:
Must have fully adjustable contact rollers and finish sanding pad.
Sanding head must have an adjustable platen.
Must have Infinitely variable speed conveyor belt powered by 2HP motor
Must have a disc brake for quick stops.
Table height must be adjustable and tracked by digital readout.
Must have automatic shutdown if sanding belt breaks or mistracks
Minimum 3-1/2 inch x 32-1/2 inch front emergency stop bar plus separate, large control panel
button for instant operator shutdown.
Must come equiped with complete pneumatic system including air filter and pressure gauge,
sanding belt, four top lift eyes, toolbox, hardware and instruction manual.
One year parts and workmanship warranty.
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS:
Motor - 20HP, 220/440V, 3PH (50A @ 220V; 25A @ 440V) - V-belt drive (with 9 ft. power cord).
On/Off Switch - Lever action, magnetic separate controls for conveyor up/down, main motor
start/stop, conveyor start/stop.
Working Pressure - 71.1 psi.
Feed Belt Speed - 13-1/8 to 52-1/2 FPM.
Sanding Belt Size ? 37 inch x 60 inch.
Maximum Stock Width ? 36 inch.
Minimum/Maximum Stock Thickness - 1/8/5.
Maximum Sanding Depth - 1/32.
Minimum Stock Length - 8.
Dust Ports (4) ? 4 inch dia., top mounted
Extraction Capacity - 823 cfm (1,400m3/h).
Overall Dimensions - 66-1/2 inch H x 58-1/2 inch W x 53-1/2 inch D.

The Government will make an award from this request for quotation to the responsible
quoter whose quote will be most advantageous to the Government. The Government
reserves the right to not make an award at all.

through final payment of any contract resulting from this solicitation. The quoter also
must be registered in ORCA (Online Representations and Certifications Application)
