The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Keyport intends to solicit for a magnetizing system including a capacitor discharge type magnetizer and fixtures using the policies and procedures of FAR Part 12. The following is a partial list of performance requirements – non-ringing, 25,000 joules minimum peak energy, variable capacitance (at least 32 equally-spaced capacitance values), peak output current display, constant-current charging, maximum current output of 35,000 amps minimum and 230 VAC power. Unit shall be equipped with electronic current reversal, electronic switch to select between two output locations, and remote operation means. In addition, four fixtures will need to be fabricated to complete magnetizing system. Complete performance requirements/specifications will be provided with the solicitation. Delivery of the required system shall take place 12 weeks aft er contract award. The solicitation will be issued on or about September 10, 2002 via the web site provided. No telephone calls for the solicitation will be accepted. Numbered Note 1 applies.
