The U. S. Department of Agriculture intends to procure a 4-Row Research Plot Planter. The planter shall include but is not limited to: 4-row (rows on 30-inch centers) mounted with category 2 three-point hitch, 7-inch x 7-inch square tube toolbar with two hydraulic row makers with alternating lift sequence; toolbar adjustable so width of planter for transport is maximum of 8 feet; two adjustable gauge wheels and jack stands; transmission with at least 50 combinations to accommodate seed spacing and population requirements; four cone type seeders with minimum 3-inch seed cups with electric seed cup lift and split dome windshield, four divider funnels mounted on cone type seeder units; one four row electrical junction box with remote trip switch; two person carriers mounted between the rows with seat, seat belt, and foot rests; two seed packet tray holders built to customer specifications: Hubble snap connectors; 4 seed trays; 4-heavy duty 13 inch tillage coulters with wave design, hold-down springs with Quick Lock; standard "Max-Emerge" style planter unites with minimum 1.5 bushel hoppers (4), finger pickup corn meters, soybean meters, double disk openers with depth control and closing wheels. The planter shall be delivered FOB to the USDA, ARS, 605 Airways Blvd., Jackson, Tennessee. An IFB will be issued on or about July 24, 2003.
