The John D. Dingell Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 4646 John R. Street, Detroit, Michigan, 48201 intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Coyote Loaders Sales, Inc., 6721 Chittenden Road, Hudson, Ohio, 44236. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of two articulated dumpers for the purpose of earth moving. These dumpers have: 48 horsepower diesel water cooled engines, 12 volt batteries, 4 wheel drive, 4 speed, oil-bathed disk brakes, hydrostatic steering, 10.5 - 18 8 PR tires, load carrying capacity of 8,815 pounds, heaped capacity of 3.5 cubic yards, outer turning radius of 14' 9", and operating weight of 6,600 pounds. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) Only one responsible source. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract, based upon responses to this notice, is solely the discretion of the government. Firms that believe they can meet the VA's requirements must submit proof to the Contracting Officer no later than July 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. local time.
