Sortation Module
USPS is planning to issue a Request-For-Proposal (RFP) solicitation for the 3P Sortation Module in August 2007. Draft specifications for the Sortation Module are attached to this announcement. Prior to the release of this RFP solicitation, the USPS will conduct a pre-proposal meeting intended to answer the questions from the prospective Suppliers for a better understanding of the technical requirements and proposal preparation as contained in the draft materials.
The pre-proposal meeting is scheduled to be held at 08:30 am on July 23, 2007 at the following location:

Attendance at this pre-proposal meeting will be by invitation only.
To receive an invitation to this meeting, the Supplier must have directly designed, produced or sold sortation equipment similar to what the Supplier will propose and have done so within the last three (3) years prior to the issue date of this announcement.
Suppliers that meet the above qualifications shall submit a request to attend the pre-proposal meeting via email to the Contracting Officer (CO) at email address
[email protected] NLT COB July 10, 2007. Suppliers must also attach a statement to their request that includes the following information:
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) certification that the Supplier has installed similar sorting equipment.
A listing of the sorting equipment that the Supplier has manufactured, installed, designed and/or is licensed by an OEM.
Primary Supplier Point of Contact name, title, telephone number, email address and mailing address
Attendees names, titles, email addresses
Space is limited to four (4) representatives per Supplier. Suppliers are encouraged to send representatives who will be involved in the technical and business areas of developing the Suppliers technical and pricing proposals. The dress code for this meeting is business casual.
The USPS will send out the invitation and a full SOW package via Express Mail to the primary Supplier point of contact by COB July 13, 2007. An email message will also be sent out to the primary Suppliers with the Express Mail confirmation number.
The USPS will update the SOW based on feedback received from Suppliers during the pre-proposal meeting and will subsequently release the formal solicitation package for the Sortation Module.
The Suppliers shall submit a minimum of two (2) customer references that can be contacted by the USPS for an in-depth confirmation of the Suppliers capabilities for the manufacture, installation, and deployment per below schedule.
