The Program Manager has a requirement to develop the next generation capability for Enhanced Environmental Control Units. Because the purpose of this effort is research to support future acquisition programs, this procurement effort is in and of itself market research for follow-on contracting. The program office executed two discreet market research efforts in Fiscal Year 2010 and 2011 of this family of Environmental Control Units, which shaped this current strategy of needing RDT&E prior to entering production. This contract will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), C-type contract for a quantity of one (1) design/fabrication/delivery; Period of Performance of 18 months. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be released within 60 days.
