The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Florida intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Draeger Safety, 101 Technology Drive, Pittsburgh, PA for the procurement of twelve (12) Air Sample Kits (p/n 6525960), twenty-four (24) carbon monoxide detector tubes (p/n 6728511), twenty-four (24) carbon dioxide detector tubes (p/n 6728521), twenty-four (24) water detector tubes (p/n 8103061), and twenty-four (24) oil detector tubes (p/n 8103111). The kits and detector tubes are part of U.S. Navy Damage Control program and work in conjunction with the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). Only Draeger Safety can provide the kits and detector tubes because only those articles that have been successfully tested are qualified. Procedures are specified under SS521-AA-MAN-010 U.S. Navy Diving and Manned Hyperbaric Certification Manual. The objective of this process is to verify that the life support system provides acceptable levels of safety throughout the ! specified operating range. The intent of the process is to provide maximum reasonable assurance that an accident will not occur and establishes maximum reasonable assurance that the user may operate the equipment without injury or an accident. Draeger Safety is the only company that has been qualified by cognizant authority to provide the Air Sample Kits and Detector Tubes.
