The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Walla Walla District in Walla Walla, Washington, has a requirement for Turbine Pit Fall Protection for Lower Monumental Lock & Dam to furnish and deliver five (5) rigid rail systems complete with all mounting hardware and two (2) self retracting lifelines.
The synopsis is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ) or proposals (RFP). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
Rigid Rails: Each rigid rail shall be single rail, plain track, 24'-8 quote mark long with two trolleys, designed to provide fall protection for two workers. Rails will be mounted to the bottom of an existing 2 quote mark wide x 4 quote mark tall HSS steel tube parallel with the supporting tube. All mounting hardware including supports, rail splices, and end stops shall be included. See drawing M-101 for configuration. The complete system must comply with OSHA's required safety factor of 2 and be designed in accordance with ANSI Z359.6
Self Retracting Lifelines: Self retracting lifelines shall be DBI-SALA Ultra-lok RSQ Self-Retracting Lifeline with Rescue or equal with the following features:
3/16 in diameter stainless steel wire rope
75 to 310 lbs capacity range
Zinc plated alloy steel locking and swiveling hook with 5000 lbs tensile strength.
50 ft length
Dual mode: self rescue or assisted rescue.
Meets OSHA 1926.502, 1910.66, ANSI Z359.1, A10.32, CSA Z259.2.2 Type II
Include Carabineer for attachment to rigid rail
