The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate on a sole sources basis with General Electric Medical Systems located in P.O. Box 414, W-541, Milwaukee, WI 53201 for 1 year contract with 4 one-year option periods for maintenance and support for the following three General Electric Advanced (PET) Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Department Scanners GE1 Model# 46-311001G2, S/N 101PT6; GE2 Model # 46-311000G1, S/N 443PT2; and GE3 Model# 46-311000G6, S/N 1707PT9. The Scanners are currently located on the NIH main campus in Bethesda, MD. The contractor shall provide preventive maintenance, emergency visits, spare parts, and hardware and software upgrades to the systems specified above. The proprietary nature of the hardware and software provided with the General Electric Advanced PET Scanners and the unique capability of General Electric Medical Systems to provide spare parts and maintenance/support make competition unfeasible. This action is under Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306-302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
