The US Army RDECOM, Picatinny, NJ is seeking sources for a lightweight and Ruggedized Personal Digital Assistant (RPDA) Fire Control Ballistic Computer system (FCBC). The RPDA must be Non Developmental Item (NDI) or a Commercial- Off-The-Shelf (COTS) item, and shall have an integrated fire control or ballistic software application. This system is intended for US Army snipers, and will support the M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS), M107 Long Rang Sniper Rifle (LRSR), and XM110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (SASS). The system must survive typical military conditions, and various surrounding constraints like Electro Magnetic Interface (EMI). The integrated software shall allow the user to input critical variables to calculate firing solutions that will determine elevation and wind adjustment necessary to accurately strike a target. Furthermore, the ballistic application must have a capability to display firing solution in TMOA, MILS, or Number of Click per MOA conversion. The estimated quantity that may be required by the Government is 5,000 each with minimum monthly delivery rate of 220 each. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This Market Survey is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this Market Survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Please submit your responses no later than November 25, 2005
