ESC/HNAK intends to award a sole source modification to Contract FA8726-09-C-0010 with Northrop Grumman for the extended operation and logistic support of the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) system payloads. Northrop Grumman will continue to operate and maintain three E-11A aircraft, one EQ-4B UAVs, and two additional EQ-4B UAVs equipped with the BACN payload. The operation and support of the additional system payloads will begin in June 2012 and continue through September 2015 in optioned intervals of no more than 12 months each. The contract modification entails maintaining the BACN payloads, platform "A" and "B" kit modifications, and payload operating ground stations. Maintenance of the EQ-4B UAV platforms and E11-A aircraft will be accomplished under a separate contract and by USAF and contractor personnel. The modification includes providing repair parts for the payload, payload control stations, and all other ancillary equipment required. Wo! rk will take place at three undeveloped US Military facilities overseas. It involves work with cryptographic equipment.
