SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Redcom Laboratories Inc., Victor, NY, for thirteen customized Redcom Tactical Communications Packages (TCPs) equipped with Version 5 firmware with an option to procure 20 additional packages. The Redcom TCP is a fully integrated communications system designed for use in rugged environments. The TCP uses the Redcom ISDN Gateway (IGX) Digital Switching System (Version 5.0) that is integrated with standard commercial interconnects for wired and other interface types. The IGX uses a patented distributed processor architecture to increase reliability and provide low cost upgrades. Signaling conversions and dialing is accomplished using the International Gateway Access Transit Exchange (IGATE) firmware. The TCP supports numerous tactical and commercial interfaces, such as: TRI-TAC (T1 or SF), KY-68, BRI, PRI, DSN-PRI, T1(MF/DTMF), DSN-T1, E1, 2M, Type 36, STU-III, STE, Digital Wireless and Base Radio Station.
