The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC) intends to procure three (3) each Marine Electronics Model 6201B Obstacle Avoidance Sonar on a sole source basis from Marine Electronics, Ltd., Unit 10 Barras Lane Industrial Estate, Vale GY6 8EQ, United Kingdom. There is a program requirement to procure an automated obstacle avoidance capability. An extensive eighteen month market survey has identified the Marine Electronics, Ltd., Model 6201B as the only commercially available system that meets the mechanical constraints of the program while providing the required performance. The mechanical constraint is that the obstacle avoidance sonar fits within the space available in the system nose cone (hemispherical space with maximum depth of space approximately seven (7) inches). The items will be delivered to the Naval Support Activity Panama City, Receiving Officer, Building 100, 101 Vernon Ave, Panama City Beach, FL 32407-7018. See Numbered Note 22.
