THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS! The 45th Contracting Squadron has a sole source requirement for a germanium coaxial detector P/N GC4519, cryopulse cryostat P/N SDPROD CP-5F-P, a remote detector chamber with 4 inch neck P/N RDC-4, and the ISOCS/LABSOCS P/N ISOXCAL. This is a Sole Source with Canberra Industries IAW FAR 6.302-1. Canberra Industries is the only source capable of fulfilling the government's requirement based on configuration requirements. The Air Force has a unique requirement for a portable detection /spectroscopy system. This detection system must fit within the existing collimated lead (Pb) shield system (tomb) that attaches to a cart. This configuration allows for spectroscopy and portability. Canberra is the only supplier who currently manufactures a product that will fit. The Canberra Multi Channel Analyzer (MCA), utilized as a High Voltage control mechanism, is both hardware and software controlled. The purchase of any other detection system will require both the purchase of another lead (Pb) tomb, significant re-configuration or the purchase of a new MCA all if which add significant additional cost. This item utilizes Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 3826 with a business size of 500 and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334516.
