Acquisition Description: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Request for Quotation number is FA8307-11-Q-1085. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Electronic Systems Center, Cryptologic Systems Contracting Division (ESC/HNCK), Lackland AFB, San Antonio TX, intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract to Myers Instruments, 1304 Langham Creek, Suite 235, Houston, TX 77084, (218) 579-0342. The contemplated award will be on a sole source award to procure two Leica M125 Stereomicroscopes manufactured by Myers Instrument. IAW FAR 6.302-1(c), the use of such descriptions in the acquisition is essential to the Government's requirements, therebyprecluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company. The Air Force does not have complete technical data or technical expertise to compete this requirement containing items which are proprietary products prohibiting the use of Full and Open Competition procedures. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one responsible source IAW 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source. The applicable NAICS Code for this procurement is 333314.
