The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Microwave Monolithics, Inc., Simi Valley, CA for seventy-five (75) Miniature SARSAT Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) for use in emergency situations on a global basis. The PLB's must be small, pocket sized, handheld, GPS assisted, extended battery life, transportable on commercial passenger aircraft in accordance with Department of Transportation lithium battery regulations. This is not a request for proposals. Microwave Monolithics is deemed the only responsible source capable of providing the required equipment. A justification for other than full and open competition is on file. No solicitation documents are available and requests for such will not be acknowledged. If one is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. The determination to open competitition is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone inquires will be accepted.
